Gunda, also known as gumberry or cordia, is a small green fruit with a naturally sticky pulp and subtle taste. Native to India, gunda is typically harvested during the summer season and pickled while still green and firm. When prepared correctly, gunda develops a unique texture—firm on the outside and slightly gummy on the inside—making it the perfect base for spicy Indian pickles.
